9.3 Driving the Tractor and Windrower
Before operating the windrower, the windrower needs to be set to the working position. Followe the following
procedure:
Transport to Working Position
A -Transport cradle
B -Working cradle
C -Wheel lock pins
D -Gearbox output driveline
IMPORTANT: Before putting the rock windrower into working position, be sure that the drum is locked into
transport position. Refer to the transportation section of this manual for complete drum lock up instructions.
Raise wheel lock pins to the temporary position.
Remove the wedge lock from the transport cradle.
Store the wedge lock in the holder on the hitch pole.
Drive the tractor ahead while turning the wheels to the right.
Pivot the windrower until the hitch pole fits securely into the
working cradle.
Lower the wheel lock pins into the pivoting wheel assembly.
Install the wedge lock into the working cradle.
NOTE: The flat edge of the wedge lock should be against the
hitch pole.
Remove output driveline from storage location.
Connect the output driveline to the gearbox.
Push and pull on the quick disconnect yoke several
times to ensure that the yoke is connected to the gearbox
shaft.
Move the transport wheel lock pin into working hole.
Raise the transport wheel.
Reinstall the transport wheel lock pin.
Remove the drum transport lock pin.
Store the drum transport lock pin in the storage hole on the
main frame.
