Before Operation
IMPORTANT: THE GEARBOX IS SHIPPED DRY. FILL WITH GEAR OIL BEFORE OPERATING .
Refer to the ‘Maintenance’ section of this manual for recommended oil type and viscosity.
Lubricate all grease fittings. Refer to the grease schedule in this manual.
Remove the chain case cover and check that the drive chain is properly tensioned and lubricated.
Refer to the ‘Maintenance’ section of this manual.
Check that all nuts and bolts are in place and properly tightened. Refer to the ‘Maintenance’
section of this manual for proper bolt grades and torques.
Check that the pivoting wheel standard axle plates are set properly. The center of the lower 5/8"
mounting bolts must be set to a maximum 2-1/4" from the bottom of the pivoting wheel standard
legs as shown below. A setting higher than 2-1/4" may result in the tires contacting the drum.
Check tire inflation pressure. Tires should be inflated to 25 PSI. Higher pressures may cause
excessive bouncing over rough ground.
Gearbox output driveline should be installed with the shear bolt torque limiter at the gearbox.
Connection to Tractor
Pin the hitch jack to the forward stub on the hitch pole and raise the hitch clevis to line up with the
tractor drawbar.
