▪ If the skid plates are worn (sliding edge
( 24-1) worn through, turn 180° and use
the other side ( 24).
▪ See the replacement parts list when ordering
replacements.
Checking the tyre pressure
Check the tyre pressure before the fi rst use in winter and
then at least once every three months during the period
of use.
The maximum allowed tyre pressure is indicated on
the tyres ( 20-1). Note: 1 bar = approximately 14.5 psi
Inspecting the machine
Each time before starting, check to make sure that the
four shear pins ( 25-1) are intact.
Replace broken shear pins with original replacement
parts. Using unauthorised replacement parts may cause
severe damage to the machine! See the replacement
parts list when ordering replacements.
Check all controls, safety devices, nuts, screws and bolts
on the machine to make sure that they are fi rmly secured
and in good condition, and and that no parts are missing.
Charging the starter battery (620E)
Caution!
▪ Charge the starter battery in a dry, well-venti-
lated space.
▪ Never completely discharge the battery.
▪ Use a suitable charger (max. 14.4 VDC,
1200 mA)
▪ Do not start the machine while charging.
1. Connect the charger to the battery:
 First connect the “+” terminal to the screw on
the starter relay ( 26-1)
 Then connect the “-” terminal to the housing
screw ( 26-2)
2. Connect the charger to the mains power.
The mains voltage must match the operational
voltage of the charger.
3. The charging time depends on the charger.
Follow the instructions in the charger manual.
4. Disconnect the charger from the mains power.
Starting the engine
Danger - risk of poisoning!
Never leave the engine running in an enclosed
space.

Choke On
Off
Gas
Fast Slow
Engine key
Off On
Fuel tap Closed
Open
Primer button
Electric start,
ignition key
(type 620E)
OFF
ON START
ENGINE SW.
Starting procedure
1. Check the oil and fuel levels.
2. Open the fuel tap ( 27).
3. Set the choke to ON ( 27-1).
4. Press the primer button 3 times at 2-second inter-
vals( 28-1). In temperatures under 10 °C, press
the primer button 5 times.
5. Move the throttle to the Fast position ( 29).
6. Insert the engine key ( 30-1).
5. Remove the charger:

First remove the clamp from the “-” terminal.
 Then remove the clamp from the “+” terminal.
