Quality of Bluetooth transmission
Possible malfunctions
Voice connection only in one direction:
The Stereo mode is activated, push shortly the Bluetooth-operating-
button for switching to Duplex mode.
The connection to the helmet gets lost when starting the engine:
If starting the engine with a low battery and therefore the on-board power
breaks down impulsed below 9V, the electronic might turn off and on
several times, or e.g. switch between duplex and stereo mode! In this
case please start the helmet-intercom-system, with an additional switch,
after starting the engine. Please note: In some modern motorbikes, the
light is switched on only after the engine is started. Then supply the
electronics power with font light.
No Bluetooth connection after switching of and on again:
Before reconnecting the power, always wait about 4 seconds until the log
out of the Bluetooth Helmet Connector is completed. Otherwise it is
possible that it takes up to two minutes to reconnect or that the reconnec-
tion fails. Please note: Regarding some modern motorcycles , the light is
turned on only after the engine is started . In this case, connect the supply
of electronics to 12 V connection of the headlight.
Audio signal from the radio, etc. overdriven at higher speeds:
Adjust Bluetooth helmet set to high volume and reduce the volume of
accessories and intercom accordingly.
Some Bluetooth noise :
The Bluetooth-to-helmet connections are optimized for distortion-free
operation at high speed. Therefore, it’s possible to hear something ground
noise with engine off (dynamic range).
No Duplex / Stereo switching or unexplained malfunctions:
If the Bluetooth devices get mixed up, please turn them off and on again.
Duplex (HFP): Communication in the driver's helmet with optimal settings:
Until about 160 KM/h - good. Especially for the pillion poorer understanding
of speech is possible with loud helmet types and at high speed. Due to the
delay in the Bluetooth transmission at intercoms with sidetone* a slightly
reverberant sound arises, but this does not affect understanding of speech.
A2DP: High Quality Stereo-Sound
* Intercom systems with sidetone: Because the Voice signal at this operates twice via
Bluetooth connection (once to Intercom and back) it may occur – depending on which
Bluetooth helmet is in use – that your own voice (so called “sidetone”) is heard more or less
deferred. A higher volume may cause an echo and could be disturbing.
