Dry Contact module types
The optional 10 or 20 dry contact modules for the SPX+ units can be one of three types as follows:-
1. The I/O (input / output) 5VDC
2. The 5VDC opto coupled (non-isolated) input only -
make sure you don’t exceed 5V or you can
damage the unit!
3. The 5VDC to 20VDC isolated input only (no voltage on inputs)
If you didn't specify the type when ordering then the default would be #1, the I/O type.
The I/O dry contacts and the 5VDC opto coupled (#1 and #2) have 5VDC so those outputs (on #1
only, #2 no outputs) will be only 0 or 5V (not open or closed). You cannot set the output on #1 to open
or closed because voltage is present on the ports and they are only 0 or 5VDC output.
The option #3 above has the internal fully isolated dry10 or dry20 module option, which will work just
like the jumper-selected opto isolated X20 and X60 dry contacts on the securityProbe 5ES-X20 units
and can support 24VDC inputs.
The 5 to 20VDC isolated inputs can be setup as Open or Closed (again as inputs only).
There is no voltage present on this type.
The type of the Dry10 and Dry20 modules are silk screened on the modules as shown here:-
