Airplane performance and flight planning terminology

Crosswind
component

The velocity of the crosswind component for which adequate
control of the aircraft during takeoff and landing can be
demonstrated.

The acceleration / load factor.

Landing run

The distance measured during landing from actual touchdown to the
end of the landing run.

Landing
distance

The distance measured during landing from clearance of a 15 m
obstacle (in the air) to the end of the landing run.

Take-off
distance

The take-off distance measured from the actual start of the take-off
run to clearance of a 15 m (50 ft) obstacle (in the air).

Take-off
run

The take-off distance measured from actual start of the take-off run
to the wheel lift off point.

Usable fuel The fuel available for flight planning.
