5.2 WATER FILLING, RE-PRESSURIZING AND DRAINING OF THE CENTRAL HEATING SYSTEM
A. Filling Water;
The initial filling of your combi boiler must be carried out by the installer.
Loosen the automated air-venting valve before filling water.
Open fiiling stop valve and fill the system to a pressure of approximately 1,5 bar, then shut off the filling valve.
Vent all radiators in the system from air.
If the pressure has dropped much down, then top up the system to 1.5 bar again and shut off the filling stop valve.
Repeat the fiiling procedure until the system pressure indicated on the pressure gauge (thermomanometer) stands
at 1,5 bar.
Attention:
During filling water, the air shall enter to the system. After the combi boiler
starts to operate, the air in the sealed central heating system is purged by the automatic
air-venting valve installed on the pump. Once the heating system is completely purged of
air, the system pressure drops down, If the pressure is lower than 0,5 bar, the combi boiler
will indicate pressure fault and in this case it should be topped up as described below.
B. Re-pressurizing;
Check regularly that the pressure is maintained. If the pressure has dropped down, pressurize it by following operations.
Switch the combi off and pull the plug off.
Check any water leaks at the sealed central heating system (pipes and/or radiators), make sure there is no leakage or
dripping.
Open the filling stop valve and pressurize the system until the needle of the pressure gauge (thermomanometer) stands
at 1,5 bar, then shut off the stop valve.
Re-operate the combi boiler.
Attention:
After completing pressurizing, shut off the filling stop valve firmly. If not, Central Heating System pressure
will rise up and when the pressure is 3 bars, the safety valve will start to discharge excessive water from the bottom of
the combi boiler.
C. Draining the boiler;
To drain the central heating water, take the following steps:
Switch the combi boiler off and pull out the electrical plug.
Open all the combi boiler and radiator valves.
Open the draining valve at the lowest point of the central heating
system, installed by the installation company. When the water
pressure gauge needle is at the 0 point close the drain valve and
others.
To drain domestic hot water, take the following steps :
Turn off the combi boiler and pull out the electrical plug.
Close the MCW inlet at the rigth hand side of your combi boiler.
Open one of the domestic hot water valfes and drain the water.
5.3 Checks Before Operation
Mains gas type and the boilers gas type should conform.
Central Heating System Water pressure should be 1.5 bar.
Check there is no lekage at the sealed central heating system.
Check whether the room thermostat is installed for controlling
the room temperature.
Maintain water pessure at 1.5 bar
