The design of the ceiling must provide for access to the product for commissioning and maintenance of the
equipment.
Discharge diffusers and plenum boxes should be supported independently from the ceiling. Return air grilles
should not be positioned directly under the inlet of the product but located some distance away. They should
ensure good air distribution throughout the room and that air at room temperature passes over return air
temperature sensors (if fitted).
Free standing units (HR85, HR95)
Free standing units should be mounted using the fixing points provided on the unit, onto a flat, solid surface,
such as a concrete or brick wall in such a way that they cannot be pulled or pushed off and impose a hazard.
8.6.
DUCTWORK CONNECTIONS
The type of connection is labelled accordingly next to each opening on the product. Check that the direction f
the air inlet and outlets corresponds with the air circulation in the air distribution ductwork.
Ductwork should be connected between the discharge plenum spigots on the equipment and the grille/diffuser
plenums.
Ensure all connections match the equipment openings in both size and arrangement. The use of smaller
diameter ductwork immediately at the equipment opening will lead to turbulence resulting on a reduction of
the equipment efficiency and lifetime.
Where not possible to use the same size ductwork ensure suitable transition pieces with sufficient length are
used to transform to the required duct size.
Flexible corrugated ducting can impose high resistances if formed into tight bends and should be avoided. If
it is absolutely necessary to install flexible ducting it should be extended so that it is internally as smooth as
possible.
Connect the inlet and outlet openings using flexible joints (not supplied by Barkell) to avoid vibrations and
ensure that these are properly aligned with the ductwork.
