WEEKLY MAINTANANCE TASKS
1.
Check all bolts for tightness, including those on the gearbox mountings, brackets
and mixing paddles. Tighten as necessary.
2.
The non-drive end of the auger is fitted with a nylon bush which does not require
greasing, but it would prolong its lifespan if given a squirt of freeing oil like WD40 or
similar each week. Check the auger discharge end for wear. You are looking for
play on the shaft in both the horizontal/vertical axis. There should be minimum
movement. The nylon bush (part no.
AW_76_NYB)
may be wearing if you notice more
movement. If this is the case, it is time to replace the nylon bush. Fitting instructions
will be provided. This is a wearing part. Please refer to page 14.
3.
Check all hydraulic hoses/fittings for wear and damage and replace any
hoses/fittings that appear to be damaged.
4.
Remove guarding and check oil levels in both gearboxes (visible through the
viewing glass) do not allow to run low.
See note below regarding oil changes
.
5.
Keep all mechanical components free from dirt.
SAFETY DURING MAINTENANCE
PLEASE ENSURE THE FORKLIFT/ LOADER IS SWITCHED OFF TO PREVENT THE HYDRAULICS
OPERATING PRIOR TO PERFORMING ANY MAINTENANCE.
CHANGING GEAR BOX OIL
The manufacturer of the gear box recommends when using the gearbox for the first
time you should replace the oil after 50hrs of use. The capacity of the gear box is 1.7L
and uses GL580W=90L Oil. After first replacement of oil replace gearbox oil every 500
hours.
