Hardware Installation

Unpacking the HP-IB Interface

Unpacking the HP-IB Interface

Observe the following precautions to reduce the risk of damaging the HP-m
interface card.

•

Protect the interface card from static electricity. The interface can be
damaged by static electricity. For protection, the interface is packed in an

anti-static bag. Leave the interface card in its anti-static bag until you are

ready to install it.

Also, save the anti-static bag so you can protect the interface if you have
to remove it from the computer in the future.

•

Handle the interface card gently. Do not drop it or handle it roughly. Be

careful while unpacking and installing the interface card.

•

Hold the interface only by its edges. Never touch any other part of the

interface, including the ISA connector tab.
