Initialize the Signal Generator Memory
If you have access to a LAN
1. Connect the signal generator to the LAN, using the instructions in the ESG Vector Programming Guide.
2. Press:
Utility
>
GPIB/ RS-232
/
LAN
>
LAN Setup
.
3. Write down the IP address shown.
4. Use the web browser on your PC and enter the following URL:
http:
//
<ip-address>
/
update
where
<ip-address>
is your signal generator’s IP address obtained in step 2.
5. Click “Initialize Option 601 and 602”.
NOTE To undo the previous steps, press “Restore Factory Setup”
If you do not have access to a LAN
1. Use a PC or UNIX workstation with GPIB or RS-232 IO capabilities.
2. Use the PC or UNIX workstation and send the following command to the signal generator:
:DIAG:MFG “UPDATE_FIXED_SETUP_P7”
.
3. Verify that no error messages appear on the signal generator’s front-panel display.
4. If an error appears, press:
Utility
>
Error Info
>
Clear Error Queue
and repeat step 2.
NOTE To undo the previous steps, send the command
:DIAG:MFG “RESTORE_FIXED_SETUP”
