Soft Start
“Soft Start” mode is provided to start the pump after a protracted
stop of the Turbo-V 750/850 Pump. This allows a better grease
distribution in the bearings.
The “Soft Start” mode is disabled by default. The “Soft Start” mode
can be activated by a suitable software or by Remote I/O command
(see the paragraphs “INTERCONNECTIONS” and “RS 232/485
COMMUNICATION DESCRIPTION”). “Soft Start” frequency steps are
the followings: 350 Hz, 450 Hz, 550 Hz, 650 Hz, 750 Hz and 825 Hz.
The pump remains at each step for a period between 20 and 300 s
depending on the current drawn from the pump. A fail condition
occurs if the pump is not able to properly spin up the driving
frequency (Too High Load Error). The soft start ramp-up time can
vary from 400s to 45 minutes depending on the pump and system
condition minimum.
Leak Check Mode
“Leak check” mode is provided to run the pump when a leak check is
needed on the system. Basically both Vent and Purge valves are
closed in order to avoid any “artificial” leak. The power usable by the
pump is limited to 20% of the set maximum power (WIN 168). Leak
check mode can be enabled/disabled only when the pump is in STOP,
and it becomes effective at the end of the next ramp.
Leak check mode can be enabled/disabled through serial line:
Leak check mode enabled: WIN 186 = 1
Leak check mode disabled: WIN 186 = 0
The Leak check mode status doesn’t affect the maximum power
available during the pump ramp-up. When the pump reaches full
speed (normal) the status condition (WIN 205) is identified by value
7 and the power is limited to 20% of the set maximum power (WIN
168). Both Vent and Purge valves are closed.
