*ESE
(Event Status Enable)
The *ESE command sets the bits in the Standard Event Status Enable
Register . The Standard Event Status Enable Register contains a mask value
for the bits to be enabled in the Standard Event Status Register . A one in the
Standard Event Status Enable Register enables the corresponding bit in the
Standard Event Status Register . A zero disables the bit. Refer to T able 4-1 for
information about the Standard Event Status Enable Register bits , bit weights ,
and what each bit masks .
The *ESE query returns the current contents of the register .
Command Syntax: *ESE < mask >
Where: < mask > ::= 0 to 255
Example:

Where: < mask > ::= 0 to 255 (integer{NR1 format)

1 In this example , the *ESE 64 command enables URQ (user request) bit 6 of the Standard Event Status Enable Register .
Therefore , when a front panel ke y is pressed, the ESB (event summary bit) in the Status Byte Register is also set.
