16 Chapter 1 — Preparing the scanner
Locking the scanner
If you need to transport the scanner over long distances, you should
first replace the shipping restraint. This will protect the scanner’s
optical box from possible damage.
1. Remove the panel at the right side of the scanner.
2. Move the optical box manually to the right, until it is in proper
position to be locked.
Hold it at its lower U-profile.
3. Remove the screw from its right hole, then gently turn the
screw into the slot and fasten it.
4. Bring the panel back in place.
