c. Install one end of the medium radius rod to
the inside of the disc adjust frame using the
same bolt that the long radius rod is on. Install
the other end of the medium radius rod to the
outside of the left front disc frame arm with a
1" x 4-1/2" cap screw and nut.
3-9.7 Retract the disc adjust cylinder completely.
Adjust the radius rods to raise the disc gangs
to maximum height. (The disc gang frame
tubes should be 1/8" from the main frame
brackets.) Adjust left and right disc gangs to
the same height.
CAUTION

RODS TO RAISE THE DISC GANGS
HIGHER THAN THE ADJUSTMENT IN
SECTION 3-9.7.
3-9.8 To operate the front and rear disc gangs at
different depths, adjust the front disc gangs
lower by shortening the front disc radius
rods. Front gangs should be set to run 1" to
2" lower than rear discs.
3-9.9 Assemble the depth gauge to the main
frame using a u-bolt and nuts. Position the
gauge under the pointer on the disc adjust
frame.
3-10 RIGID AND SPRING CLAMP INSTALLATION

3-10.1 Rigid Clamp Installation
a. Attach top plate and rigid clamp to frame per
shank placement drawings (See Figures 2-1
- 2-6) using 5/8-11 x 8-1/2 hex head cap
screw and hex lock nuts.
b. Slide shank into rigid clamp over pin welded
in the end of rigid clamp.
c. Attach shank to rigid clamp spacer using
7/8-9 x 4 hex head cap screw and hex lock
nut. Note: Head of cap screw will sit up
into large hole in center of rigid clamp.
d. Tilt shank and rigid clamp spacer up to un-
derside of rigid clamp. Bolt into place with
1/2-13 x 4 hex head cap screw and hex lock
nut.
3-10.2 Spring Clamp Installation
Note: Spring clamp casting, inner casting,
spring cap, spring clamp washers, and springs
come from the factory already assembled.
a. Attach the top plate and spring clamp as-
sembly to frame per shank placement draw-
ings (See Figures 2-1 - 2-6) using 5/8-11 x
8-1/2 hex head cap screw and hex lock nuts.
b. Install the shank spacer into the shank bolt
hole.
c. Loosen 5/8-11 hex lock nuts on the spring
u-bolt until the shank will pass between the
spring clamp casting and the inner casting,
then through the spring u-bolt. Slide the
shank into the spring clamp assembly until
the spring u-bolt is engaged in the shank
notch.
d. Slide the washer between the top of the
shank and underside of the spring clamp as-
sembly until the holes line up.
e. Install the 5/8-11 x 2-1/2” hex head cap
screw and hex lock nut.
f. Slide the shank u-bolt over the hinge
bracket notch and secure with 2 hole plate,
and 5/8-11 hex lock nuts.
3-10.3 For both rigid and spring clamps, attach
spikes to shanks using 1/2-13 x 2-1/2” plow
bolts, split lock washers, and hex nuts.
