" comply with EPA Worker

Protection Standards for operating in a pesticide

environment. This does not include fumigants.

However, to remain in compliance, 

ECPAR

 cabs must

be operated with door closed and fan on max setting

when applying or operating in a treated area. Operators

must also avoid entering or exiting cab in treated areas.

Cabs must be equipped with required filters and

maintained properly. (See maintenance section of this

manual). 

FIG. 53:

Never spray hazardous chemicals when wind

is in excess of chemical manufacturer's

recommendation. Never allow chemicals to contact

skin or eyes.

Always wear approved protective equipment

and clothing.

Before leaving cab, wear personal protective

equipment as required by pesticide use instructions

and chemical manufacturer recommendations. Before

re-entering cab, remove protective equipment and

store; either outside cab in a closed box or another type

of sealable screen. Inside cab, use a pesticide resistant

screen such as a plastic bag or approved screen.

Clean shoes or boots to remove soil or other

contaminants prior to entering cab.

Select a proper area to fill, flush, calibrates and

decontaminate machine. Select an area where

hazardous chemicals will not drift or run off to

contaminate people, animals, vegetation, water supply

etc.

If hazardous chemicals come in contact with body,

wash immediately according to chemical

manufacturer's recommendations.

Never place nozzles, tips or other parts to lips to blow

out trash or debris. Have spare tips available for

replacement.
