Install the muffler on the engine exhaust port 
and tighten securely. 

 

3. 

Gather the following material for making a 
cowl cutout template.  Use a large envelope or 
cardboard file folder for template material. 

4. 

Measure 3/16” from the edge of the template.  
This will allow for the overhang of the cowl-
ing to the front former. 

5. 

Mark a line 3/16” from the edge of the tem-
plate.
