REASSEMBLY:
15. Install the burner, removed in step 13, with
one burner gasket (part no. 81030)
under
the
burner flange and the second burner gasket
above
the burner flange.
16. Place the burner housing gasket (part no.
81019) on top of the blower, ensuring that it is
positioned correctly in relation to the blower.
17. Position the burner housing on the the burner
flange, aligning it with both burner and blower.
18. Reinstall the the six (6) 1/4-20 screws
removed in step 9 that connect the burner
housing to the blower, but only hand-tighten
them at this point, to ensure positioning.
19. Attach the burner housing to the burner by
loosely tightening the eight (8) 3/8-16 nuts
removed in step 10, and then
torque the
eight nuts in a star pattern to 35 ± 5 ft./lbs
to ensure the burner housing is evenly tight.
NOTE
It is important to fully tighten the burner
housing to the top of the heat exchanger
BEFORE
fully attaching it to the blower.
20. Fully tighten the the six (6) 1/4-20 screws
hand-tighten in step 18 to fully connect the
burner housing to the blower. If necessary,
adjust the height of the blower mounting
plate so the blower is at the correct level.
21. Check to ensure that the grounding screw is
reinstalled. Also, ensure that conductive,
high-temperature, anti-seize compound is
applied to the threads of the ground screw
and the ignitor-injector.

22. Install the ignitor- injector in the burner housing
flange, and
torque to 15 ft./lbs.
Do not over-
tighten.
23. Reinstall the Flame Detector using a new Flame
Detector gasket (part no. 81048).
24. Perform a water bubble test during purge to
ensure the burner gaskets provide a good seal.
7.7 CONDENSATE DRAIN TRAPS
The Benchmark 3.0 Boiler contains two condensate
traps as shown in Chapter 2, Figure
2-5. One trap is located external to the unit and
attached to the drain pipe from the connecting
manifold. The other trap is an integral part of the
exhaust manifold. These traps should be inspected
and, if necessary, cleaned to ensure proper
operation. Follow the procedures in paragraphs
7.7.1 and 7.7.2.
7.7.1 Connecting Manifold Condensate
Trap
To inspect and clean the condensate trap (part no.
24060) attached to the connecting manifold,
proceed as follows:
1. Loosen the thumbscrew securing the trap
adaptor (Figure 2-6) to the condensate drain
pipe on the connecting manifold.
2. Remove the nipples and connections on the
inlet and outlet sides of the condensate trap
shown in Figure 7-5.
