Quick Start Guide
NetVanta Unified Communications Demo Kit

ETUP
I
NSTRUCTIONS
1. Unpack all hardware from the demo case.
2. Assemble the IP phones and connect Ethernet cables
from IP phones to any Ethernet port (labeled
1
through
24
) on the NetVanta 7100 front panel.
3. Optional. Connect an analog phone (not provided) to
FXS 0/2
on the rear of the chassis.
4. Connect the VVX Expansion Module to the VVX 400
phone using the provided auxiliary cable connected via
the aux port. (The auxiliary cable is the shortest cable in
the demo kit and is about 8 inches long.)
5. Optional. Connect analog telephone lines to the
following FXO ports on the rear of the chassis.
Line 1 - FXO 0/1
Line 2 - FXO 0/2
6. Connect the USB cameras on top of the VVX 500 and
VVX 600 phones.
7. Optional. Connect personal computer to any Ethernet
port (labeled
1
through
24
) on the NetVanta 7100 front
panel using the supplied Ethernet cable.
8. Optional. Connect the
ETH 0/0
port on the
NetVanta 7100 rear panel to an Internet connection that
provides DHCP using the supplied Ethernet cable.
9. Optional. If you have assembled your own demo kit (and
are not using the one ordered from ADTRAN), you may
be required to log into the phones with user names and
passwords after they boot up for the first time. The login
is the extension number and the password is
1234
.
10.Connect the AC power cord to the NetVanta 7100 rear
panel, then to an AC power source, and allow the
NetVanta 7100 and all phones to boot.

1. Place a call from the VVX 600 (extension 201) to the
VVX 500 (extension 202). The call will automatically be
set up as a video call if the USB cameras are
connected.
2. Identify the system scheduler button on the VVX 400
and show that it is on
Day Mode
.
3. Place a call from VVX 400 (extension 203) to VVX 300
(extension 204).
4. Place a call from the VVX 400 (extension 203) to the
ring group (extension 800) to demonstrate all phones
ringing four times and then transferring to the default
auto attendant.
5. Press the
Night Mode
system scheduler button on the
VVX 400 to demonstrate the busy lamp field (BLF) light
changing to
Night Mode
.
6. Place a call from the VVX 400 (extension 203) to the
ring group (extension 800) to demonstrate all phones
ringing once and then transferring to night time auto
attendant.
7. Press the
Day Mode
system scheduler button on the
VVX 400 to change the BLF light back to
Day Mode
.
8. Place a hands-free intercom call from the VVX 500
(extension 202) to the VVX 400 (extension 203) by
pressing the BLF button.
