To access menu screens, connect a VT100 terminal or
computer running a terminal emulation program to the
craft interface port of the SCU using a standard
male-to-female RS-232, DB-9 cable (
Figure 5
).
Craft port settings are as follows:
• 9600 Baud
• No parity
• 8 data bits
• 1 stop bit
NOTE
If a personal computer with terminal capability
is being used, be sure to disable any power
saving programs. Otherwise, communication
between the PC and the HDSL unit may be
disrupted, resulting in misplaced characters or
screen time outs.
To initiate a terminal session, enter the appropriate
number of space bar characters to determine the speed
of the terminal, and the Main Menu will appear.
This menu provides access to detailed performance
and configuration information by way of the following
menu screen options:
1. Bank Controller
2. Line Interface Unit
3. Provisioning Templates
4. Access Modules
5. System Alarm
6. Contact Information
7. Set Circuit ID/Date/Time
8. Flash Upgrade ICOT
