The OLS-5 uses a light emitting diode (LED) to
generate invisible radiation that falls into the non-
dangerous
Laser Class 1 , classified according to
EN 60825-1:1997. The maximum power radiated
with no optical fiber connected is 0.062mW
(-12.1 dBm). The difference for this radiation is
approx. 22
°
(0.38 rad).
This means that during normal test operation if
you follow the warnings, the generated light is not
hazardous.

When the device is switched on,
never look directly into the
output or into a connected
optical fiber.
