8. Support the roll that will remain in the nip with blocking under it and reposition the
strap around the roll to be removed.
9. Slide the roll horizontally out of the nip until it clears the back wall and then lift it clear
of the nip.
5-5 Preventative Maintenance Schedule

Ensure adequate chain tension X
Ensure no tensioner slippage X
Grease roll bearings
(DO NOT OVERGREASE) X
Lubricate chain (as needed/ every 6 months) X
Lubricate linear rails (as needed/ every
month) X
5-6 Lubrication
Motor and gearbox lubrication: check the tag from the motor manufacturer.
Main roller bearings are lubricated at the factory but need re-lubrication periodically.
Grease fittings are provided for re-lubrication and are located on the right and left-hand
bearing housings. Lubricate every month or 750 hours, while the machine is running. DO
NOT OVERGREASE. More frequent lubrication may be required in severe applications.
