5.0 GENERAL FEATURES
5.1.1. OVERVIEW
BravoFIL Plus is a robust and compact filter used for filtering water for civil and industrial uses. It fits into narrow
spaces. During the filtration phase, water enters the filter and flows down through the filtering cartridge from the
exterior to the interior and comes out clear. By turning the knob clockwise the filtering cartridge turns 90° and it is
automatically cleaned by brushes located in the bowl. At the same time the incoming water is diverted by the rotation
and runs through the counter-wash filter; then it enters the turbo jet that sprays clean water at high speed uniformly
over the filtering cartridge from the interior toward the exterior. Finally, water comes out from the discharge valve
together with dirt. The two-step cleaning procedure is accomplished by two knob notches. The cleaning operation
should be done every time is needed.
BravoFIL Plus filtering cartridge is made in stainless steel maintaining a constant degree of filtration over time
ensuring uniformity of filtration. Standard filtration rating is 89 micron but other filtration ratings are also available.
BravoFIL Plus is suitable for water filtration for the removal of foreign bodies such as sand, flakes of oxides, particles
of iron to a size of 89 microns. The filter is made entirely from high quality materials and in compliance with all
European standards. Head filter is made in acetalic resin, fitting plate in brass and bowl in Grilamid to assure high
mechanical and corrosion resistance.
Pressure reducer
In the back plate connection is housed the pressure reducer which is pre-calibrated at the factory with an outlet
pressure of 3 bar. This value can be changed to any value between 1 and 6 bar simply by turning the adjustment
screw. The regulating scale is placed at the top of the knob and it allows to display the value of pressure set for the
output pressure.
The brass plate can be rotated 360 degrees (in increments of 90°) to facilitate the installation either horizontally or
vertically.
5.1.2. FILTER INSTALLATION AND PRESSURE REDUCER REGULATION
The connection plate can be turned of 360°, every 90°, to be suitable to any installing needs. This feature allows to fit
BravoFIL Plus filter to every mounting condition. It is only required to follow the water flow direction indicated by the
arrow placed on the connection plate.
To change the fittine position unscrew the nuts
with an allen key, nr. 6.
Rotate the connecting plate in the suitable
position, being carefully to place adequate the
gasket between the fitting and the head in
acetalic resin.
The installation of specific devices designed to
adsorb water hammer are highly recommended
to prevent abnormal pressure peaks which
could cause serious damages to the filter.
In order to calibrate the pressure downstream
of the reducer is sufficient to turn the black
knob until the gearbox, on the appropriate
opening in the handle. The value of the
pressure downstream in displayed by the
pressure gauge provided with the filter.
