Installing and Removing an Intel Pentium II
Xeon Processor

This section describes how to install and remove an Intel Pentium II Xeon

processor.

Installing an Intel Pentium II Xeon processor

Follow these steps to install a Pentium II Xeon processor:
1.

Attach the fan/heatsink module to the Pentium II Xeon processor and secure

it with four screws.

The thermal cable and heatsink fan cable
must be on the bottom.

Remove the left panel of the housing. See section 2.2 for more information on

opening the housing panels.

If there is an existing termination board installed in the CPU slot, remove it.

Refer to section 3.1.4 for information about removing a termination board.
