It is then fastened with two small locking clips. 

To remove the backrest, push the two locking clips away from the

backrest bracket. 

Pull the backrest sharply upwards.

Note: when fitting the backrest, it is easier to push the locking

clips in from the back of the chair. When removing the

backrest, it is easier to push the locking clips away from the

front of the chair. It may also make it easier if you recline the

chair back to make the backrest brackets more accessible.
