Lubricant pumping
1. Turn the switch (Fig. F/no. 12) to the START-
position to start the pump.
ATTENTION: To avoid suctioning air, the control
lever (Fig. B/no. 5) has to be set to the lowering
position-
. If necessary, adjust the pump pressure
with the pressure gage/pressure regulator
(Fig. F/no. 14).
Move the follower plate out of the container.
2. Interrupt the air supply to the pump by turning the
switch (Fig. F/no. 12) to the STOP position- .
3. Set the control lever to the lifting position
(Fig. B/no. 5) until the follower plate (Fig. E/no.
11) automatically moves out of the container. The
speed can be adjusted with the choke valve (Fig.
I/no. 20).
4. ATTENTION: If the follower plate cannot be lifted
fully out of the container, please complete the
following steps:
4.1 Open the air bleed valve (Fig. E/no. 6) on the
follower plate (move up).
4.2 Set the control lever to the lifting position
(Fig. B/no. 5) until the ram is fully extended
(mechanical stop).
4.3 Clean the seals on the follower plate
(Fig. E/no. 11) and inspect them for damage.
Container changeover
After moving the follower plate out of the container:
5. Remove the empty container.
6. Slide the full container against the container cente-
rings (Fig. D/no. 10) so it is centered.
WARNING
Do not touch the edge of the
container with your hands or reach
into the container under any circum-
stances while lowering the follower
plate. Doing so can cause damage
to property and/or physical injury.
CAUTION
Due to changing friction and
pressure conditions, sudden jumping
movements may occur as the
follower piston plate is lifted out
of the drum. Always maintain a
sufficient safety clearance above
the cross-head.
Lower the pump into the container
8. Set the control lever (Fig. B/no. 5) to the lowering
position
and open the air bleed valve
(Fig. E/no. 6) on the follower plate (move up).
9. Lower the follower plate (Fig. E/no. 11) until the
follower plate enters the container and reaches the
level of the medium.
10. Then
close
the
air bleed valve
(Fig. E/no. 6) on
the follower plate (move down).
11. Adjust the follower plate pressure if necessary
(Fig. F/no. 15).
WARNING
Don‘t touch the edge of the container
or reach into the container under any
circumstances while lowering the fol-
lower piston plate. This may result in
material damage and/or bodily harm.
CAUTION
If the follower plate pressure is too
high (Fig. F/no. 15), the follower
plate may dip below the level of the
medium
Loss of grease,
contamination.
CAUTION
Closing the bleed valve is
essential
.
Air can be sucked in or grease
pushed out if the bleed valve is
open.The drum pump starts lifting
up if the bleed valve is open in the
Hold position.
