4 Putting into operation

4.3 Mounting the wire guide
4.3.1 Liner
To be used for steel wires.

Lay down the cable assembly
straight and unscrew nut
from central connector
.

Slide the liner
through the wire conduit
until a noticeable resistance is felt in the inlet
.

Determine excess length x and pull out the liner
again.

Shorten the liner
by the dimension x.

Debur the cutting point and sharpen the spiral beginning to an angle of 40°.

Insert the liner cut to length

NOTICE
• Only use gas-tight, plastic-insulated wire guides to ensure a secure shielding gas cover
and a defined current contact.
• Bare liners give rise to a loss of shielding gas.
NOTICE
• New and unused liners must be abridged to the actual length of the cable assembly.
• To install the wire guide with a little preload, excess length is required.
