8 Putting out of operation
► When putting the system out of operation, ensure that the procedures for switching off the welding
components are observed.

Switch on/off the device.

Wait until the shielding gas post-flow time has passed.

Close the shut-off valve for the gas supply.

Switch off the power source.

Pull out the mains plug.
9 Maintenance and cleaning
Regular ongoing maintenance and cleaning are prerequisites for a long service life and trouble-free
operation.
The maintenance cycle is determined by the work environment and by the length of the scheduled intervals
between maintenance of the devices. The maintenance cycle is usually three months. If the device is
operated for more than 8 hours a day, the maintenance intervals should be changed as needed.
9.1 Maintenance intervals
The specified intervals are standard values and refer to single-shift operation. We recommend recording the
inspections. The date of the inspection, the detected defects and the name of the inspector must be recorded.
The following maintenance schedule represents the absolute minimum required. Maintenance at more
frequent intervals is necessary if the device is operated under harsh ambient conditions. Replace damaged
parts immediately.

Electric shock caused by incorrectly installed and damaged cables
Use of damaged or improperly installed cables may result in a potentially fatal electric shock.
► Check all live cables and connections for proper installation and damage.
► Have any damaged, deformed or worn parts replaced only by a qualified electrician.
VORSICHT
Risk of injury due to unexpected start
If the device is energised during maintenance, cleaning or disassembly work, rotating parts may
unexpectedly start up and cause crushing.
► Switch off the device.
► Disconnect all electrical connections.

Daily Clean the device. ► Clean the device with a wire brush and scour with compressed
air to remove weld spatter.
► If necessary, replace any heavily soiled components.
► Clean welding dust and metal swarf from base plates.
► Clean the rollers of guide arms/roller units and check their ability
to run.
Check that the assembly is
secure. ► Check that the welding torch mount, handle, base plate, guide
arm and screws are securely attached and, if necessary, retighten
them.
► Check that all connections are secure.
Check function. ► Check that the control elements are functioning correctly.
► Check all cables and plastic sheaths for damage and soiling,
and replace if necessary.
