The System Monitor consists of a NEMA 4/4X rated steel enclosure containing a data
logger/gateway, AC/DC power supply, serial data line surge protection, and DC protection fuse.
The data logger connects to the Local Area Network (LAN) with an Ethernet RJ45 connection.
Typically it connects to a Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) or Cable router/gateway for internet access,
though any internet connection will work.
The System Monitor is available in two versions. The VSN730-03 has the capability to monitor up
to 10 ABB or Power-One legacy string inverters and one ABB (VSN800 Weather Station) or
Power-One legacy weather station. Inverters can be single-phase or three-phase string inverters.
The VSN730-05 has no software limitations on the number of devices it can monitor, but it is
recommended that no more than 20 devices be connected to each port.
