Reverse power/directional overpower protection DOPPDPR
Reverse power/directional overpower protection is used for generator protection
against the generator running like a motor. However, it can also be used to protect
against delivering an excessive power beyond the generator’s capacity to the grid.
Two instances of reverse power/directional overpower protection functions are used
with DT characteristics. A set of three phase currents and voltages, I3P and U3P, is
connected to the inputs.
A common operate and start signal from the both reverse power/directional
overpower protection functions is connected to an OR-gate to form a combined
directional overpower operate and start signal, which provides a LED indication on
the LHMI. Also a separate start signal from the both instances is connected to the
disturbance recorder. However, the operate signal from the both stages is connected
to the OR-gate to form a combined directional overpower operate signal, and
connected to the disturbance recorder.
