Thermal Mass Flowmeter FMT200-ECO2

7 Maintenance
All measuring systems are calibrated with air on factory-own calibration systems. The manufacturer is
connected with the German Calibration Service (DKD). The mass flow sensor is maintenance-free. Only
a higher content of dust or oil in the air makes occasionally cleaning necessary. In this case, use of an
air filter is recommended. Filters which maintain an air quality corresponding to ISO 8573.1.: class 1-2
have proven to be especially suitable.
Cleaning the measuring sensor
The sensor can only be cleaned from dust, not from sticky or stubborn pollutants. In case of pollution with
oil or with substances which cannot be purged with air, the sensor should be returned to the manufacturer
for cleaning with a special solution. In such cases, the device will also be recalibrated.
Cleaning by purging with air:
1.
Remove the cable connector from the probe.
2.
Make sure the piping is not under pressure.
3.
Dismantle the sensor at the process connections.
4.
Blow through the probe carefully with clean compressed air.
5.
Make a sight control of the special flow steadying sieve (optional) for pollution
→
if necessary, replace with a new special sieve.
6.
Re-install the special sieve carefully into the probe.
7.
Reconnect the cable to the probe.
Notice
Under no circumstances, components such as the honeycomb or sieve may be removed from the probe,
bent or damaged in any way.
Non-compliance with the cleaning steps described above may lead to damage of the probe.
