Baked layers of contamination from heavy fuel oil or coked oil, for example, occur at the tur-
bine end. The following parts, which are relevant in terms of performance, can be cleaned in
accordance with the description below.

Dismantle the lamellar sealing ring (56005) in the nozzle ring.
u
Place contaminated parts in hot water or in a liquid such as brake cleaner to soften the
contamination.
u
Brush away the contamination or remove with a steam cleaner.
u
Repeat the soaking and brushing process if necessary.
u
Use clean water to remove all traces of solvent from parts.
u
Dry components completely.
u
Spray cleaned surfaces with penetrating oil. Do not spray the outer surfaces of the tur-
bocharger.
u
Dispose of contaminated water and cleaning agents in accordance with the information
in the safety data sheet.
