6.6 Checking the safety brakes
DANGER - If there is only a one-sided braking eff ect or no braking eff ect, do not use the c-max
U1, to avoid falling from the stairs. Notify the manufacturer, the AAT fi eld service, or the author-
ised specialist dealer!
WARNING - Check safety brakes without occupant!
There are safety brakes
on both sides of the chassis.
» Test the safety brakes be-
fore every journey.
Retract the climbing leg com-
pletely and tilt the c-max U1
backwards.
Test: the c-max U1 cannot
be rolled forwards, but only
backwards = safety brakes
active.
6.7 Single-step mode
Single-step mode
Deactivate / Activate.
LED is lit = single-step mode
activated!
If you do not need the sin-
gle-step mode, you can
switch it off manually on the
membrane keypad.
» LED is not lit = single-step
mode deactivated!

Manufacturer’s recom-
mendation:
Only deactivate the sin-
gle-step mode, if the op-
erator is able to handle
the c-max U1 safely.
DANGER - With the single-step mode deactivated, it is essential to ensure correct operation,
otherwise the c-max U1 may slip!

Recommendation by
the manufacturer:
As an aid, support your
foot on the drive housing
to tilt the c-max U1 back-
wards. For the detailed
procedure, refer to chap-
ter 8.2.
