8 Analysis of Speed Data Measurements
While the DFS is in operation all the speed measurements in the defined speed range (Figure
6-19) are stored. The memory in the DFS has space for 100,000 time-stamped
measurements. When the memory is full the oldest data will be overwritten first (ring buffer).
With the software the data can be downloaded to PC or PDA and then analysed statistically.
8.1 Transfering measurements to PC or PDA
(1) To transfer data from the DFS 700 to PC, establish a USB, Bluetooth or GSM
connection, see Section 6.4.
(2) Start the DFS-CAS program, highlight the device to be read in the “DFS List” and open
the download window via the “Read DFS data” command.

A data storage path is suggested as standard here for the data to be read. It can be
changed if required.
The suggested path is located in the data folder and is named like the selected DFS.
The filename is composed of "Year/Month/Day/ Hour/Minute/Second" and the extension
".dat".
(3) After pressing “OK” all data is transferred from the DFS 700 to the PC. The transfer
progress is displayed in the "Com Monitor" window and can take several minutes.
