Adding a Neighbor
You can add a neighbor static IP address to an existing interface. This may
speed up the process of router convergence.
To add a neighbor:

Enter the following at the top-level menu:
ip ospf neighbors add
The following prompt is displayed:
Select IP interface {1-4} [3]:

Enter the interface to which to add the OSPF neighbor.
Enter static neighbor address:
3
Enter the static IP address of the neighbor.
Removing a Neighbor
To remove a static neighbor address from an existing interface:
1
Enter the following at the top-level menu:
ip ospf neighbors remove
The following prompt is displayed:
Select IP interface {1-4} [3]:

Enter the IP interface.
Enter static neighbor address:
3
Enter the IP address of the neighbor to remove.
The module removes the neighbor from that IP interface.
Setting the OSPF
Router ID
The OSPF router ID identifies the router to other routers within an
autonomous system. Three types of router identifiers are available, and all
three take the form of an IP address, but are not necessarily an actual IP
address:
■
Default
— A unique ID that the module generates and uses as the
default router ID
■
Interface
— The index of an IP interface on the router
■
Address
— An ID that you define in the form of an IP address
