Device Port
The Control port is used for data communication and for viewing video on client devices.
The HTTP Port is the web interface port.
The RTSP port is used for RTSP streaming to 3
rd
party client software (i.e. VLC Player, 3
rd
party VMS).
The RTMP port is used for streaming audio, video, and data between the client browser using Flash
technology and the IP Camera server.
Port Forwarding
For mobile applications the Control port will need to be forwarded in the router to connect to the IP
Camera when outside of the network.
For a remote browser session, all ports will need to be forwarded. Note that the HTTP port will need to
be a port other than 80 on the IP Camera. For example, the HTTP port can be 81 on the IP Camera and
will need to be forwarded in the router. In this case the port will need to be specified in the URL.
