ASSEMBLY

Fit one upper leg (ref. #19) and one lower leg (ref. #22) between one left elbow (ref. #20)
and one right elbow (ref. #21).  The shorter section of the elbows should fit against the lower
leg, and the longer section should fit against the upper leg.  Align holes, insert       1/4 - 20
x 2" bolts (ref. #24), thread on 1/4" nuts (ref. #25), and tighten securely.  Repeat with sec-
ond set of legs, elbows, bolts, and nuts.

Press leveling end caps (ref. #23) on both ends of the lower leg tubes.  The leveling end
caps are eccentric so they can be rotated to level the stand on uneven surfaces.

Using 1/4 - 20 x 2" hex head bolts (ref. #24) and 1/4" nuts (ref. #25), assemble the leg
assemblies to the upright weldment (ref. #18).  Tighten the bolts and nuts so the legs are
free to pivot together for compact storage, yet tight enough to remove "play" between the
parts.

Swing the sleeve assembly’s (ref. #17) quick release lever to the open position and fully
loosen the sleeve assembly’s socket head cap screw.  Press the sleeve assembly onto the
upright weldment tube (ref. #18).  The fit between the two parts will be tight.  Therefore, the
ears of the sleeve may need to be spread slightly in order to fully seat the sleeve onto the
upright weldment tube.  When installed, half the sleeve will fit over the upright       weldment
tube and half will extend above the upright weldment tube.  Tighten the socket head cap
screw but do not overtighten.

Press the nylon shim (ref. #26) and then the universal top tube assembly (ref. #14) onto the
end of the extension tube (ref. #16).  Tighten the two socket head cap screws (ref. #15) but
do not overtighten.

Swing the sleeve assembly’s quick release lever (ref. #17) to the open position.  Insert the
extension tube (ref. #16) into the sleeve assembly and swing the lever to the closed    posi-
tion.  At least 7" (18 cm) of the extension tube must be inserted into the sleeve  assembly
and upright tube.  If the tension of the quick release is not adequate to securely hold the
extension tube, swing lever open, tighten nut of quick release, and swing lever to closed
position.

Place the tapered sleeve (ref. #13) over the tapered portion of the clamp assembly’s rotat-
ing shaft (ref. #6).  Place clamp assembly into the universal top tube (ref. #14).  Rotate the
swing handle on the back of the universal top tube until the clamp is firmly engaged.
