Installation, Operation and Maintenance Instructions 

 

Description 
The Alpha floodlight is manufactured in marine grade die cast aluminium* with a toughened glass window which is 
permanently cemented in place and silicone rubber seal on both the ignitor housing and the CGB control-gear box. The 
type of protection is Ex de, flameproof and increased safety. Restrictions apply to the mounting orientation of the 
luminaire such that, the control gear enclosure must be level or below the axis of the lamp. 
 
Application 
The luminaire is suitable for use in a Zone 1 area, gas and dust hazards and reference should be made to the rating table 
below in respect of T rating and ambient temperature considerations, 
The luminaire is designed for use in areas not subject to levels of vibration or shock above those considered normal for 
fixed installations. 
Care should be taken, not to expose the gasket(s) to high concentrations of hydrocarbon vapours. 
Refer to product certificate for details of certification, coding, conditions for safe use, etc. 
 
*As an option, the luminaire may be manufactured in stainless steel or gunmetal as an alternative to aluminium.
