ZyXEL SN MP Im plem entation
ZyXEL currentl y includes SNMP support in som e P-660RU-Tx v3 routers. It is
im plemented based on the SNMPv1 , so it will be able to comm unicate with
SN MPv1 N MSs. Further, users can also add ZyXEL's pri vate MIB in the NMS to
m onitor and control additional system variables. The ZyXEL's private MIB tree is
shown in figure 3. For SN MPv1 operation, ZyXEL permits one community string
so that the router can belong to only one comm unity and allows trap m essages to
be sent to onl y one NMS m anager.
Som e traps are sent to the SN MP m anager when anyone of the following
even ts happens:
1. coldStart (defined in R FC -1215) :
If the m achine coldstarts, the trap will be sent after booting.
2. warm Start (defined in RFC -1215) :
If the m achine warmstarts, the trap will be sent after booting.
3. linkDown (defined in R FC -1215) :
If an y link of IDSL or WAN is down, the trap will be sent with the port
num ber . The port num ber is its interface index under the interface
group.
4. linkUp (defined in RFC -1215) :
