VoIP Trunking Application 1 - VoIP Phone to PSTN Phone
How to Make Phone Call from VoIP Phone to PSTN Phone?
1. Dial the SIP number of the ZyXEL Trunking Gateway (B) from phone 1.
2. The Trunking Gateway (B) picks up and waiting enter a PSTN number (Phone 3).

If no PSTN number is entered, ZyXEL Trunking Gateway (B) rings the phone 2 connect to the local
FXS port.
3. Enter the PSTN number on phone 3.

If the Auto Attendant Authentication on ZyXEL Trunking Gateway is not enabled, it forwards your
call to the Phone2.

If it has Auto Attendant Authentication enabled, the IVR in Trunking Gateway will prompt you to
enter the password. If your password matches then it forward your calls to the PSTN number you
dialed.
Configuration Details:
For such kind of Trunking application, your ZyXEL Trunking Gateway (B) needs to have the following
configuration settings:
1. Apply the following SIP configuration – Primary Voice Compression field needs to be set to G.729
and DTMF Mode field needs to be set to SIP INFO . (Please refer to the above configuration screen
dump in SIP Configuration Criteria for VoIP Trunking Application )
2. Trunking feature must be enabled.(VoIP > Trunking > General)
3. Auto Attendant Timeout (sec) needs to be configured. (VoIP > Trunking > General)
4. A password in Auto Attendant Authentication may be configured to ensure only authorized callers
can call into your ZyXEL Trunking Gateway and use it to forward calls. (VoIP > Trunking >
General)
