What is Optical splitter?
An optical splitter is a passive device that splits the optical power carried by a
single input fiber into multiple output fibers. Higher split ratio means more ONUs
can access the fiber. The input optical power is normally split evenly between the
output fibers.
What is splitter “uniformity”?
The optical loss between the input port and all N output ports of a 1:N splitter is
ideally a constant. In practice, however, the loss varies slightly from one port to
another due to manufacturing issues. This variation is described by the splitter
