Removal and Installation

of (#1, #5, and #6) Pins

1.  If necessary, pins can be removed

by placing a punch on the round,

smooth side of the pin and tapping

with a hammer.

2.  To install new pins, line up the

pathway with a small screwdriver,

insert the round smooth end of the

pin into the hole and tap the knurled

end of the pin with a hammer until

the pin is flush with the surface.

Removal of Existing

E-Clip (#4) and

Adjustment Pin (#3)

1.  With the handles fully open, make

note of the adjustment number on

the Pin (#3) facing the dot on

the tool.

2.  Remove existing E-Clip (#4) by

prying it away from the pin with a

flat head screw driver or needle

nose pliers.

3.  Tap the adjustment pin (#3) out as

far as you can with needle nose

pliers then remove pin by hand

using a pulling/wiggling motion.

Installation of New

E-Clip (#4) and Adjustment

Pin (#3)

1.  Clean the adjustment pin area

of the tool with a brush and rag

to remove any dirt and surface

rust. Be careful not to remove the

adjustment dot marking on the tool.

2.  Use a ratchet bar

clamp to close

the jaws until the

hole in the jaw

clears the hole in

the tool. Move the

upper handle to

align its hole with the hole in the

jaw. Insert the adjustment pin (#3)

into the aligned holes, positioning

the pin so the appropriate number

is facing the dot on the tool. Jiggle

the handle until the pin seats fully

into position and the groove on

the other side of the pin clears the

surface of the tool.
