9 Synchronization
You can synchronize information between your PC or Microsoft
®
Exchange Sever and your phone with ActiveSync on both your phone and PC. Before
synchronizing information, please install ActiveSync on the PC. Once you install ActiveSync on your PC, you will be prompted to connect your phone and create a
synchronization relationship with the device by using a USB cable or Bluetooth connection. While you are setting up this relationship you can choose the
information you want to synchronize with either your PC or with Microsoft
®
Exchange Sever.

9.1 Installing ActiveSync
To install ActiveSync in your PC, please follow the instructions given when you run the ActiveSync and application software CD. After finish installing
ActiveSync in your PC, you will be asked to build a partnership with your phone using one of the two connection methods: USB cable and Bluetooth.
Note: Once synchronization completes, you can disconnect your phone from your PC.
9.2 Choosing your synchronization type
Synchronize with a USB cable Connection
You can connect your phone with other devices via a USB connector. You can manually change the connection settings as follow. The new settings will be
used when you connect your device to the PC next time.
1. Select Start > Organiser & Tools > ActiveSync.
2. Select Menu > Connections.
3. Choose USB in the drop-down menus and check Synchronize all PCs using this connetion.
Synchronize with a Bluetooth™
You can also synchronize your information by using Bluetooth wireless connectivity technology, which allows your phone to connect to a
Bluetooth-compatible device within 10 meters. To synchronize via Bluetooth connection:
1. Execute ActiveSync Help on the PC and follow the instructions for configuring Bluetooth connections on your PC to support ActiveSync.
2. Select Start > Organiser & Tools > ActiveSync.
3. Select Menu > Connect via Bluetooth. Ensure that the phone and PC are within 10 meters.
4. Press Sync.
5. When finished, select Menu > Disconnect Bluetooth.
Note: To preserve battery power, turn off Bluetooth when it is not in use.
9.2 Using ActiveSync tools
Once you’ve established the connection partnership between your phone and the other device, you can start synchronization. The information you can
synchronize includes contact information, calendar appointments, media files and e-mail messages, etc.
Synchronize Contacts
You can synchronize the phone book between your phone and the remote server via wireless network.
Select Start > Organiser & Tools > SyncML to access the SyncML screen.
Note: The detailed information for SyncML settings should be provided by Movistar. Contact with Movistarif necessary.
Synchronize Calendar
You can synchronize calendar items on you phone with calendar items on your PC or Microsoft
®
Exchange Sever. For more information on synchronization,
see ActiveSync Help on the PC.
Synchronize Music and Video
Install Windows Media Player Version 10 or the later version on PC. And insert a storage card into your phone. Before synchronizing music and video with
your phone, make sure that ActiveSync works with Windows Media Player and all media synchronization settings must be set in Windows Media Player.
