5.  Inspect the  working area.  Remove all loose objects,  such as stones, broken 

glass,  nails,  steel  wire,  string,  etc.  that  could  be  thrown  out  or  become 
wrapped around the cutting attachment. 

6.  Make  sure  you  can  move  and  stand  safely.  Check  the  area  around  you  for 

possible obstacles (roots, rocks, branches, ditches, etc.) in case you have to 
move suddenly. Take great care when working on sloping ground.  

7.  Never  work  from  a  ladder,  stool  or  any  other  raised  position  that  is  not  fully 

secured. 

8.  Always hold the machine with both hands. Hold the machine on the right side 

of your body. 

9.  Switch off the machine before moving to another area. Fit the transport guard 

before carrying or transporting the equipment any distance. 

10.  Never put the machine down with the machine running unless you have it in 

clear sight. 

11.  Stop the tool before 

cleaning or when clearing a blockage, 

checking, carrying out maintenance or working on the hedge trimmer, 

adjusting the working position of the cutting device, 

leaving the hedge trimmer unattended. 

12.  Ensure  that  the  hedge  trimmer  is  correctly  located  in  a  designated  working 

position before starting the tool. 

13.  Do  not  operate  the  hedge  trimmer  with  a  damaged  or  excessively  worn 

cutting device. 

14.  Always  ensure  that  all  handles  and  guards  are  fitted  when  using  the  hedge 

trimmer. Never attempt to use an incomplete hedge trimmer or one fitted with 
an unauthorized modification. 

15.  Always be aware of your surroundings and stay alert for possible hazards of 

which you may not be aware due to the noise of the hedge trimmer. 

 

WARNING!  
Keep unauthorized persons at a distance. Children, animals, 
onlookers  and  helpers  should  be  kept  outside  the  safety 
zone  of  15  meters.  Stop  the  machine  immediately  if  anyone 
approaches.  Never  swing  the  machine  around  without  first 
checking  behind  you  to  make  sure  no-one  is  within  the 
safety zone.
