For 120-ohm balanced E1 operation, set the jumpers on the adapter panel as shown in Figure
7-6.

Both

DSX/CEPT Modules should be set for balanced operation prior to installation.

For 75-ohm unbalanced E1, set the adapter panel jumpers to UNBAL

in one location only

,

and set them to BAL in all other cases. When multiple DSX/CEPT modules with jumpers are
installed, the unbalanced jumper should be set on the module closest to the E1 line. When the
adapter panel is present, it is considered the unit closest to the E1 line. The corresponding
jumpers on the rear of the panel are set to UNBAL while all other module jumpers are set to
BAL.
