Measuring of holding force
To determine the actual holding force of a chuck, you have to measure the
torque applied by the withdrawing force testers.
We strongly recommend to measure the holding force on a regular basis.
7.2.1
Preparing the measurement
Place the hexagon flange on the withdrawal force tester and unscrew the clamp bolt
counter clock wise (view from below on the clamp bolt) - out of the withdrawal force
tester - up to the stop
.
7.2.2
Applying torque
1. Supply compressed air to the chuck (open it up).
2. Mount the withdrawal force tester on the fastened chuck by putting the clamp
bolt of the withdrawal force tester in the opening of the chuck.
3. Close the chuck (release compressed air).
4. Hand-tight the withdrawal force tester clockwise up to the stop to the chuck.
5. Use a wrench to apply the required torque. The chuck needs to safely
hold the clamping bold in position - up to the defined torque.
