SWITCHING ON SAFELY
The Axio Observer microscope is delivered in a
partially assembled condition. It can be set up and
calibrated by the customer himself or through the
ZEISS service.
Please refer to the chapter "INSTALLATION
INSTRUCTIONS AND FIRST-TIME SET-UP" in the
complete operating manual.
Switching ON the microscope and the power
supply unit for the HBO 100
•
Remove the dust covers from the instrument.
Axio Observer 3, 3 materials:
•
Switch the microscope on using the
On / Off switch (on the left of the stand,
Fig. 3/

).
Axio Observer 5, 5 materials:
•
Switch the microscope on and off using the standby button (Fig. 3/
1
).
Axio Observer 7, 7 materials:
•
Switch on the external power supply unit VP232-2 using the power switch.
•
Start up the microscope using the standby button (on the left of the stand, Fig. 3/
1
).
•
For fluorescence applications, switch on the fluorescent illumination source (e.g. power supply unit for
HBO 100, Fig. 3/
2
), if required.
GENERAL WORKING ADVICE
The monitoring LED (Fig. 3/
3
) lights up when the microscope is switched on.
