transformer technology to provide true
galvanic isolation.
This new class of solid-state transformer is
up to 10 times lighter and more compact
than a traditional transformer. It operates
at a much higher frequency using state of
the art Silicon Carbide technology.
The
Protection Unit
located close to the
mains, shuts down mains power in the
event of a fault representing a hazard to
the user or the environment. The glowing
lights provide status information to the user.
The
Isolation Unit
provides a galvanic
isolation barrier to allow charging of
electric vehicles independent of the
electrical grid topology, such as in the
presence of an unconfirmed protective
earth connection.
