4.1 Calibration Procedure
This section explains how to calibrate field instruments using the CA550 program sweep.
Workflow

Calibration before Adjustment
Before adjusting a field instrument, check the output value at each calibration point.
Apply a signal to the device to be calibrated using the source function of this instrument and
measure the output signal on this instrument.
Compare the value measured on this instrument to the specifications of the device to be calibrated.
The instrument’s source values, measurement values, judgment results, and calibration target
information are saved in this instrument in CSV format.
Calibration after Adjustment
After adjustment, check whether the output from the device to be calibrated is within the
specifications at the same calibration points as those of the calibration before adjustment. If further
adjustment is necessary, perform readjustment and calibration again.
By comparing the calibration data before adjustment and calibration data after adjustment, you can
maintain the continuity in the measurement values of the field instrument.
