YMGI: Your Modern Green Idea

Introduction

Read this manual carefully, making sure you understand all the instructions, practices and procedures contained in this manual. Be sure
you are familiar with all the safety advisories that appear throughout this manual. Your personal safety depends upon your observance
of all precautions contained in this manual.

Safety advisories appear throughout this manual and your personal safety and the proper operation of this appliance depend upon the
strict observance of these precautions.

The 3 types of advisories are defined in the following table:

Indicates  a  potentially  hazardous situation  which  if not  avoided  could  result  in  serious
injury or even death.

Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in minor or
moderate injury. It could also be used to alert against unsafe practices.

Indicates a situation that could result in equipment or property-damage only. It can also
be used to call attention to important details within this manual.

Important Environmental Concerns

Studies  have  shown  that  certain  man-

made  chemicals  can  affect  the  earth’s  stratospheric  ozone  layer  when  released  into  the

atmosphere.  Refrigerants  that  contain  Chlorine,  Fluorine and  Carbon  (CFCs)  and  those  containing  Hydrogen,  Chlorine,  Fluorine  and
Carbon  (HCFCs),  may  affect  the  ozone  layer.  Not  all  refrigerants  have  the  same  potential  impact  on  the  environment.  YMGI  Group
advocates for the responsible handling of all refrigerants including industry replacements for CFCs such as HCFCs and HFCs.

Responsible Refrigerant Practices

YMGI Group believes that responsible refrigerant practices are important to our customers, the HVAC/R industry and the environment.

All HVAC/R technicians who handle refrigerants must be certified. The Federal Clean Air Act (Section 608) sets forth the requirements
for handling, reclaiming, recovering and recycling of certain refrigerants, the equipment and tools necessary to perform these service
procedures. In addition, some states or municipalities may have additional requirements that must also be adhered to for responsible
management of refrigerants. HVAC/R technicians must know the applicable laws and follow them.

Disposal Notice

Do not dispose this product or its components as unsorted municipal waste, as they contain items that may require special treatment.
Contact your local waste management company for details.

Proper Field Wiring and Grounding Required!

Failure to follow established electrical codes can result in death, serious personal injury and property damage. All field wi ring MUST be

performed by qualified personnel. Improperly installed and grounded field wiring poses

FIRE

 and

ELECTROCUTION

 hazards. To avoid

these hazards, you MUST follow the requirements for field wiring installation and grounding as described in this manual and by NEC and
your state and local electrical codes.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Required!

Failure to wear proper PPE for the job being undertaken could result in serious injury or even death. Technicians must take the necessary
precautions to protect themselves from potential electrical, mechanical, and chemical hazards and MUST follow all precautions in this
manual and on the tags, stickers, and labels, as well as the instructions below:

Before installing or servicing this unit, technicians MUST put on all PPE recommended for the work being undertaken. ALWAYS
refer to appropriate Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines
for proper PPE.

When working with or around hazardous chemicals, ALWAYS refer to the appropriate MSDS sheets and OSHA guidelines for
information on allowable personal exposure levels, proper respiratory protection, and handling recommendations.

If there is a risk of arc or flash, technicians MUST put on all PPE in accordance with NFPA 70E or other country-specific requirements for
arc flash protection, PRIOR to servicing the unit.
